Kindly take note that on the 25th of October 2024, the Fuels Industry Association of South Africa (“FIASA”) obtained approval from the Competition Commission of South Africa to implement simultaneously, a new uniform deposit structure for LPG cylinders.
The structure approved by the Competition Commission strives to facilitate the cylinder exchange process through deposit uniformity across the industry, whilst implementing a transparent and cost-effective cylinder deposit structure for each cylinder size. – This milestone decision will encourage further investments on LPG cylinders, and consequently accelerate access to LPGas to consumers and reduce energy shortages.
Considering the above, Gas Centre wishes to notify you that with effect from 18th November 2024, the cylinder deposit fees for different LPG cylinder sizes will apply as set out in the table below; The non-refundable levy will thereafter no longer apply:
